Ken had his life radically reoriented as an adolescent through discovering his identity as a child of God within his “Father’s house”. Graduating with a Masters in Christian Leadership in 2019, the majority of Ken’s adult life has been spent raising his four children, directing multiple non-profit programs, or pastoring the local church. In 2020, amidst the pandemic, Ken and his family co-founded SLAQ and CruCon with five other families.

Mike and his wife Risha are the church planting pastors of Mosaic of Grace. Mike also serves as a Discipleship Guide for SLAQ in preparation of launching a second Discipleship Cohort here in the Shenandoah Valley. The Discipleship Cohort brings youth together for outdoor adventure, community service, and intergenerational, crucial conversations (CruCon) on biblical wisdom and contemporary opportunities and challenges. Mike will assist in additional program management, various aspects of CruCon, leading SLAQ excursions and partner development for the SLAQ as an organization.

Jeff Lindeman will chair SLAQ’s Board of Managers. Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from West Virginia University, a doctorate in chemistry from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from Georgetown University. If you ask about it, Jeff will probably quip “that’s more degrees than a thermometer and not nearly as useful.”
Jeff has long been interested in Christian formation and what it looks like to live out Christian faith in the marketplace and in day-to-day community. Having spent much of his career with large law firms, Jeff opened his own firm in 2009 wanting to “do it differently.” Wendell Berry, in his book Remembering, captured Jeff’s vision for the firm, “It was a place of work, but a place too of order and rest, where work was done in a condition of acknowledged blessedness and of gratitude.” Jeff brings to SLAQ entrepreneurial and organizational experience. An elder at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Arlington, VA, Jeff and his family live in Northern Virginia. Jeff enjoys time outdoors, conversations over coffee, and woodworking.

Hannah has always been passionate about youth ministry. Over the years, she has seen how the SLAQ program pours into the youth and disciples them into becoming strong and articulate leaders who love Jesus. Hannah recognizes that In our culture, you see so much division and loneliness, that the opportunity to be on the front lines of creative ways to combat the struggles that our youth are going through is why Hannah sees SLAQ as so important. Hannah is honored to help steward the resources and vision given to SLAQ as a board member and considers it a blessing to actually interact with the youth and staff who are passionate about sharing the love of Christ.

Martin has been involved with SLAQ and CruCon from day one, first as a father of three adolescents and then as a member of our oversight team, and now board. Martin has a Master’s Degree in Theology & Ethics from Duke University’s School of Divinity, and is an ordained minister in the Anglican church. He also loves splitting wood for the fireplace and reading good books. We appreciate how Martin keeps CruCon theologically grounded.
